TIPS & TRICKS

  • To maximize yields, It is important to view your garden's production & the chores associated throughout the whole year, not the season.

  • Learn which crops grow when. What vegetables prefer cooler weather? Which like it hot?

  • Figure out your micro-climate's first & last frost dates. This will dictate when its safe to plant certain crops.

  • Take notes on garden observations and goings on for later review. This really helps when planning for the following year.

  • Create a calendar if you wish, this may help insure that crops cycle in and out of the garden.

  • Consider sectioning off your garden space and planting like crops together.

  • Make or visualize a map and play around with maximizing your space.

  • If you are a beginner, don't be afraid to learn from your mistakes or ask an experienced gardening friend for help or advice.

  • Use the winter months to really think about the variety you would like to grow. What do you or your family members enjoy the most? What new crops are you eager to try?

  • Plan to grow produce that you actually want to eat!

  • Ask Yourself some Basic Questions and plan should come with time: What do I want to grow? When Should I Grow it? How Often Should I Plant it? When Will I Harvest?
